TSSM's Key Topic Tests (KTT) are designed to diagnose the key components of the Unit 2 Systems Engineering Study Design. These tests are an invaluable resource for students to test themselves on each key topic for Unit 2 Systems Engineering. All tests are supplied with full solutions and a marking guide.

The following package for Unit 2 Systems Engineering includes 3 tests titled below:

  1. "Electrotechnological concepts and principles: Energy & Power (including energy sources, their measurement and their conversions from one source to another; alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) waveforms and their use and the work restrictions detailed in the Electricity Safety Act 1998; AC power generation; generators and dynamos; transformers: step-up and step-down; electric power sources: cells, batteries and photovoltaic cells; electrical energy efficiency"
  2. "Electrotechnological concepts and principles: Electrical calculations-Ohm’s law (including the resistor colour code; resistors: fixed value, light dependent (LDRs) and variable (potentiometers), their value tolerance and power ratings; resistors in series and parallel combinations; capacitors: AC/DC, fixed value and variable, polarised and non-polarised and ultra or super, and their voltage ratings; diodes: signal, power, light emitting (LEDs) and photo; printed circuit boards (PCB) artwork, breadboard and Veroboard; Ohm’s Law: DC and AC (purely resistive) calculation; power calculations: DC and AC (purely resistive))"
  3. "Electrotechnological concepts and principles: Electronics & Electronic components (including motors: AC/DC, stepper, servo; solenoids: push, pull and dual; integrated circuits (ICs) including microcontrollers, their representations and simulated implementation using simulation software; switches: momentary (normally open and normally closed) and toggle (normally open and normally closed, combinations of single and double pole, single and double throw), single and ganged, micro, reed and mercury; relays: normally open and normally closed including their voltage and current rating)"
