Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) - Units 3 and 4*

Our Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are written by experienced VCE teachers, who are also VCE Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for both Unit 3 and Unit 4.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are designed to target the key areas of the Study Design for Visual Communication Design. These tasks are a valuable resource with which to assess the coursework components of Unit 3 and 4 Visual Communication Design. All tasks are supplied with full solutions.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Visual Communication Design have been prepared for both Units 3 and 4. The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 3 Package includes 5 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Three options included):

  1. Professional design practice analysis - written report
  2. Professional design practice analysis - visual annotation
  3. Professional design practice analysis - practical feild exercises


Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Two options included):

  1. Design analysis - Comparing aesthetics for communication - written report
  2. Design analysis - Comparing aesthetics for communication - visual annotation

Unit 3&4 Package includes 8 tasks -

Outcome 3 for Area of Study 3 Unit 3 (Five option included):

  1. SAT Discover - ethical research, market and stakeholder insights, and data documentation using divergent thinking.
  2. SAT Define - research and data analysis and synthesis with convergent thinking.
  3. SAT Define - writing the brief and design criteria for client, needs, purpose, context, audience/user and constraints.
  4. SAT Develop - inspiration, brainstorming and generation of ideas through divergent thinking and iteration drawing and documentation.
  5. SAT Develop - prototypes and critique


Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 Unit 4 (Two option included):

  1. SAT Deliver refine and resolve selected design concpets with documentation drawings, models for the two design processes.
  2. SAT Deliver -  devise and present a pitch to audience/user explaining design solutions and collecting feedback for further refinement.
     

Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 Unit 4 (One option included):

  1. SAT Deliver - Design Presentations for each communication need and design criteria


These tasks provide teachers with a degree of flexiblity when setting assessment tasks for their students. While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET), prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.

*Unit 3 Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) will be released on February 6, 2025 and Unit 4 will be released on May 29, 2025. Orders made in advance are welcome.
